Agapé Academic Overview
Agapé Boarding School provides a profound focus on each of their students achieving academic success. We believe that every teen should have a strong academic foundation, as well as college preparatory studies. We are a fully accredited school (see the Accreditation page).
Many therapeutic boarding schools put less emphasis on academics. While attempting to get a teen’s behavior back on track, their academics may suffer and put them even further behind. Parents will also be coached on how to address academic needs with their son, both while he is in the program and when he returns home.
We strive to work with every student and parent to ensure that students participate in every part of the program. Parents that are clear with their son that they must excel in every aspect of the program before having the opportunity to transition home will find that their son will work much harder academically.
The Academic Center is divided into three sections by age. Each section has a supervisor who oversees the students academic progress. Each student will have to complete all assignments for the week to be released to activity time on the weekends. If a student is behind in his studies, he will be required to attend mandatory study hall instead of activity time. He will also have to pass milestone test with at least an 80% to be able to continue in the course. If he lower than 80%, he will be required to retake that section of the class. This ensures that your son is learning. If a student is needing help in one of their subjects, our staff or a tutor are there to provide one-on-one help. The average school today does not have the staff to provide this kind of individualized attention to each child. Agapé curriculum works great for students at both ends of the performance spectrum.
